Information we collect
When you use Maindoor we collect: the email address you give us when joining a waitlist or saving a comparison; the property details, priorities, and commute destination you enter into the comparison tool; an anonymous session ID stored in a cookie, your locale, and a one-way hash of your IP address; and basic interaction events (page views, button clicks) sent to our analytics provider.
How we use it
We use this information to run the comparison tool you asked for, to email you when a tool launches or your saved comparison is ready, to understand which features are useful, to debug errors, and — only when you explicitly request it — to connect you with a licensed real estate agent.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers required to run Maindoor (hosting, database, analytics, email delivery, and the AI provider used for the paste-and-parse feature). We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with featured agents unless you explicitly request a connection.
Featured agents
Maindoor may feature select licensed real estate professionals on certain pages. These featured agents are clearly labeled as sponsored partners. We do not share visitor data with featured agents unless you explicitly request a connection (for example, by clicking a call-to-action on the featured agent's card).
Where can I live? tool
When you use the Where can I live? tool without saving, your destinations and preferences are not stored. If you save your search via email, your inputs are stored linked to your email and a unique save token, used solely to email you results and notify you when matching coming-soon cities are published. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any of these emails.
Compare Neighbourhoods tool
When you use the Compare Neighbourhoods tool without saving, your selections and priority weights are not stored. If you save your comparison via email, your inputs are stored linked to your email and a unique save token, used solely to email you the results and updates. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any of these emails.
Data retention
Waitlist emails are retained until you ask us to delete them. Comparison data is retained for up to 12 months. Anonymous analytics events are retained according to our analytics provider's defaults.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete any information we hold about you by emailing support@maindoor.ai with the email address you used. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in a region with stronger data rights (EU, UK, California, Canada), those rights apply to you in full.
